How was yours?

We had a good day.
Well, as good as you can have after 2 and a half hours sleep.
It took so long to put the games table together. And it didn't help, when I opened the screw packet I bent half my thumb nail completely backwards. Ouch. Try using an allen key with only four fingers. It's a very slow process!!
The kids loved what they got. Michael loved his digital camera the best.
And Caitlin loved her tv/dvd the best.
We had a bbq brekky at 6:30 with the neighbours.
Then I cleaned up and got lunch ready. There was so much food - my fridge is still full.
Mum stayed for a while, which was good.
I didn't get to bed until after midnight. And I still haven't caught up on sleep yet.
I got to scrap today. Yay.
I'm waiting on 3 parcels so I hope at least one arrives tomorrow for the weekend!!
Countdown begins again - 9 sleeps till my birthday!!
I never usually get a card or cake, so I have given subtle hints to hubby (ok, more like a sledgehammer) that I will be expecting both this year!!
Well that's it for me ~

Christmas Eve

Got a long night ahead assembling a games table!!

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas!!

Hubby redid my garden this afternoon so it's all looking pretty for our traditional breakfast bbq.

Then after we clean up we have to get ready to host lunch here. (this is my first year) We usually have it at my mums house.

But just over a week ago she was stabbed by her partner....it's a long crappy story.

But anyway, she is ok - I just didn't want to put her under any pressure on Christmas Day - so suggested we do it here.

(not sure if I'll regret it or not?)
So, whatever you're doing tomorrow - I hope you are enjoying it with the ones you love!!

Away with the birds

Every couple of days we usually get my two little lorikeet friends stop by for a snack.
They like bread with a bit of milk and honey the best.
Today though - there was this little dude hanging out on the next door neighbours washing line.
Well, he wasn't that little. It was a bit scary. Coz I was thinking if there's a hungry kookaburra here then there is probably a juicy snake close by.
God I hope he gets it, if there is!!
Yuck!

I hate snakes. They scare me to death!!

Feeling crafty

So today I finished off my christmas book. I decided half way through that I wanted to do the kids seperate ones, so I made this one Michaels. I was going to make it really fat with heaps of things in it. But since I am making 2 I decided to do just the basics. Now all I need is to add the pics and journalling.
I love being organised.
The top layout I just did then. I love that picture. Just going to add some journalling and the date. Another one for the box!!
Need to pack all my stuff away ~
Have a great week!!

I was..

just going through the pics I took today.

This kid makes me laugh.

Alot!!
All I wanted was to take a nice picture of her. And she kind of stooped into a cute little pose, looking all sweet. And then as soon as she heard the camera beep, she jumped up into my face...and this is the resulting shot.
It wasn't funny at the time. I was starting to get annoyed.
But as I was uploading the pics - as soon as I saw it, it made me laugh!
I love my beautiful girl.

You know how...

when you go to the supermarket for bread and milk and you end up coming out having spent alot more.

Well that's what kind of happened to me today. Except it was the Scrapyard and not a supermarket.

I only went for some tape because I had run out. And this is what I ended up getting.

I have probably overspent so much this month that the next time I get scrap stuff will be in March!!! Big Ooops!!
I did this layout last night. I wasn't really paying attention. And I hate it. Not the layout design - but the colours I chose. Don't know what I was thinking.
It was from Kim Archers Online Class. Everyone elses was so gorgeous!! I killed mine!! Anyway...
My darling husband bought me some birthday presents yesterday - and one of them was a 50mm lens for my camera. Thank you very much.
I had a play with it today. I love it.
I also received my card from Julie Love's chrissy card swap. It was gorgeous. Thanks Connie.
That's it. Off to finish watching Survivor!!
See ya -

P.S - It's not my birthday yet...I just always get my presents early!!

In progress

So this is what I have been working on.

It's going to be an album of christmas day.

With things like - the time the morning started, what we ate, favourite present, where we went, who we saw...etc, etc.

It's 6 X 12 and I have to say - the size is great. I am a strictly 12 X 12 girl and if I even attempt anything smaller....I hate it.

But I think I have a new favourite size. It's so easy. Not too small. And not heaps of space to fill. I love it!!

My little Miss finishes school today. She's very excited about that.

Lucky I finished shopping for the kids.
Better go. Gotta finish my coffee and go pick up my little man.
Have a Happy Thursday ;o)

Fun stuff and not so fun stuff

I decided to change the clock I made for Mum last night. I like it a bit more now.

The fun - this morning I went and picked up a parcel. It's the Kiki's Christmas Collection from Scrap in Style. Looks much better in real life. I can't wait to play with it. I might start today!! I just love the scalloped Bazzil with the holes. So yum. And it's a really nice red.
The not so fun - I had to take the sewing machine to the post office this morning and send it back. I think I might go and get one from Spotlight or something. I may leave it until after christmas. Bugger!!
Have a Happy Tuesday ;o)

It feels like Christmas

Some pics of our tree.

Putting it up yesterday, it was like ok, clear a space, untangle all the lights, get out the decorations....

But when Cakey started putting up all of the handmade things that the kids have made over the years - I started feeling all sentimental.

Looking at the tree when the kids had gone to bed. The house was all quiet. The lights twinkling.

I could feel the magic of christmas had arrived.

It may not be the prettiest tree (it's getting pretty old). But it certainly is full of love this year!!

Christmas truly is my favourite time of year!!
