10 in 2010

Since I haven't exactly scrapped 10 layouts this year - I though I'd just post my top 10 pages, cards, moments or photos of 2010. Ready?
Jan 5 - My birthday. I always love my birthday. The weather was perfect. The company was perfect. The meal was perfect. I couldn't have asked for anything more.
Jan 8 - A layout. Part of my 'I'm going to scrap one layout a week, all year long' thing. Yeah - that didn't happen.

Feb 8 - this actually is a favourite layout. So much so that it hangs on the dining room wall.

19 March - I bought a big iMac. Love it. It's so pretty. I will never go back to PC. NEVER!!

8th May - I went to Mistified with Heidi Swapp. Amazing day. Amazing class. Heidi is such a great teacher. Probably THE best scrappy day ever. And it helps that I made something that I really love.

28th May - Found that this kitty really likes to be wherever I am. She's my little buddy

25th June - Loved the new American Crafts lines this year. As soon as I got some, I started chopping.

16 August - Following Christine Middlecamp's doily tutorial, I made the doilies and tucked them into a 7 gypsies frame. She amazed me with all her detail. Mine aren't anything like hers - but I love them nonetheless. They sit on my scraproom wall.
15 October - Bought alot of Parisian Anthology. Love the album. (Haven't filled it yet)
27 October - Had an animal get stuck in our bedroom roof. Didn't know what it was until we cut a hole in the roof to get it out. It was a little kookaburra. Poor thing. It must have been so scared. So lucky it didn't die.

And that's it.
2011 for me is going to be about me. Taking better care of myself. Enjoying myself more. Completing what I start.

So until next year -

A little reorganising

My pretty colourful rack of yummies now sits directly in front of me on my desk. Instead of behind me on the floor.
And this little basket sits next to it. I've put all of my little colour stuff in it. I'm sure I'll move it all around when Mister Huey moves in next month.
I thought today was going to be the day that my 2peas parcel arrived. Nope. Not today. I hope it's tomorrow. I really want to have it for the weekend. I am so impatient.
Trying to make birthday plans for next week. Thinking maybe a picnic at lunch and then we're seeing Gullivers travels in 3d. I hope it's good. I've volunteered to make my own birthday cake. I'm thinking about a chocolate mousse cake. Or a cheesecake. Whichever way - I need to make my mind up soon, or I'll end up with none.
I really need to get to bed. Tomorrow marks the second day of the C25K program. Doing it at night didn't work for me last night - so I'm trying to do it early in the morning.
Wish me luck -

Christmas recap

Christmas for me was tiring this year. I felt like I was chained to the kitchen the whole time.
The kids had a wonderful time. They loved everything they got.

The biggest hit of Christmas though was definitely Kinect. It has been used by all of us. Daily. We even went out on boxing day to get 2 more games.

The cats even got in on the present unwrapping action. They loved all the paper and ribbons.
I was a spoiled girl and got a Thermomix (which I received early), a watch, some clothes, books, and a gorgeous cake stand that doubles as a punch bowl.
I am still waiting for some sun. It's been nothing but rain. Our driveway was underwater today.

And the pool is full of mud. So sick of the rain and mess.

Hopefully it's all bright and lovely soon - I really want some good weather for my birthday next week. Not likely though.

Hope you are having better weather than me!

Chrissy eve

First up. For Keshet. Here's the recipe links to those rocky roads: The white choc one is here. And here is the chocolate swirl one. The biccies are a thermomix recipe - so here's a couple of others.

Today was pretty big. I cooked my turkey and made a gravy. And then made chocolate mousse.

And then made chicken & leek risotto for dinner. I've done all the dishes. And my fridge is so full right now.
Made 4 trips to the shops today. 3 of them were food related. The final trip though was the best thing to happen all day - My SC kits!!
Am totally in love with the KI stitched paper and the MM envelopes. Love!
And the stamp in this one. Perfect
And the days stamps. Awesome. And I can't wait to try out the JB ink. I got stick candy.

I don't think I'll get a chance to play with it tomorrow. Will be busy cooking & cleaning. So maybe it will be my treat on boxing day.

Anyway - I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year,

Sweet Treats

My plan was to spend some time in the kitchen today. As soon as I got up, I got ready and went to the shops to get the rest of the ingredients that I needed. Disaster 1 - they didn't have any marshmallows. What the?

So I got home and had to go help move a trailer. That took 2 hours longer than it was supposed to.
Finally got home and hubs went out to find me some marshmallows while I started getting my other ingredients ready. I got distracted when he came back and ended up with disaster 2 - I burnt half a kilo of white chocolate. Idiot!!
Finally I got myself together and pumped out some goodies.
First was a white chocolate rocky road(containing cranberries & pistachios)

Then a mix of white & dark chocolate rocky road(with turkish delight, flaked almonds & toasted coconut)
And some white chocolate & cranberry cookies.
Everything is cleaned up. Dishes are done. And I'm looking forward to a hot coffee & a cookie,

Sometimes

Sometimes I like to plan ahead. And be organised. And be on time. And be prepared.
Tonight is that time.
I downloaded this - which I think is absolutely perfect. And I am right in the middle of printing it - except my new printer has just stopped working, oh joy. Gee - I'd hate for my life to run too smoothly ;o)
And if I do manage to get it finished, I plan on hanging it on my fridge ready for the first of Jan.
Pretty good, huh?

The horror!!

Last night, my beloved Canon Pixma Mp880 died. I couldn't believe it. This has been my absolute favourite and most trustworthy printer I have ever come across.

So after sulking last night - I begrudgingly went to find a replacement. Now I would never stray from a Canon - so I knew it had to be a Canon.
After a bit of umming and ahhing, I finally decided on a Canon MG8150. It seems like it pretty much does everything that mine used to.

Isn't she pretty. And she's pretty clever too.
That's why she is a she.

Give me a week - then I'll tell you if she has really filled the shoes of her predecessor,

Christmas treats

I usually have ordered a ton of christmas products way before now. I am someone that likes to be organised - just apparently NOT this year.
So I have placed a couple of orders with the things I like the most right now. And of course nothing will arrive before Christmas, but I don't mind. Especially since I got most of it on special. Yay for sales.
These are a few of the things I like the most -

I got quite a bit of Dear Lizzy Christmas as it is my favourite line this year, along with The Girls Paperie Tinsel & Twig. Throw in a bit of KI Memories - and I'm a super happy girl.
Lets just say I'll have a really early start on next years cards ;o)

Finishing

So although I'm a little later than I usually am - I finally finished off my Christmas cards and they are ready to be mailed.

And last night I went to Tamar's Crafting circle and worked on this for my baby girl. I forgot to take the ribbons, so I got it finished off today.
It's my sweeties graduation on Monday ( she only decided she wanted to go in the last 48 hours) so we trekked off to the shops today to get an outfit for her. It was absolutely crazy. But we did manage to come home with a dress, new shoes and a necklace. So pretty happy about that!

I just hope I don't have to go anywhere near the shops again!!

Have a happy weekend -

Happy December

I've been wrapping presents and trying to get organised.
And of course at the last minute I decided to do a december daily album. Except I forgot to take a pic yesterday. So typical me.
You should see my Project 365 album. Not good.
Going to try and finish my Chrissy cards over the weekend. Or at least work out how many more I need to make.
Hope you are having a happy, organised December -

Just quickly

It's way too early for a Sunday - considering I've been up for a while.
Anyway - I haven't been feeling really scrappy lately - so I threw together another quick card with my scraps.

And I have signed up for this!! I have taken it the past 2 years and loved it. Loved everything I have created from it. And am so ready to get into the Christmas spirit.
Bring on tomorrow!!
Love love love!!

Back to my coffee -
Have a fabulous Sunday

Thursday 18 November 2010

Nearly a whole month...

without blogging. Oops. Everytime I went to to do it, I'd get distracted by other stuff.
Anyway.....

I haven't scrapped much. Just made a couple of cards as a gift for my nan.Using my most favourite butterfly stamp from Studio Calico.

I've also been busy in the kitchen with my thermomix.
I have made some yummy stuff.
One night I made roasted vegetable soup & portugese rolls. I didn't even start cooking until after I got home from school. It was so quick.

And on the weekend I made pizza from scratch, even my own sauce - which was pretty delicious.
Tonights dinner was lasagne. The bechamel sauce only took 12 minutes and was as smooth as silk and I didn't even have to stir it. It was fantastic.
I love my thermomix.

I'm still getting over being sick. Back to the docs on Monday. Hopefully it'll be all good. Had a CT scan last week - so I'm waiting on those results.

And that's it for me.

Have a happy week.

2011 planner

The other day I signed up to this class and decided that since I had some time today - I'd start printing out everything and put it together.

I still need to embellish the cover...

And get some bigger binding rings (Mine were just a smidge too small)

I used pumice stone  & tumbled glass inks on HO3 papers.

I love how it came out. So cute! Can't wait to use it.
