So 2013 turned out to be not as productive as previous years. Mostly due to falling pregnant and being practically bed ridden for the first 4 months - and then my crafty mojo disappearing completely.
But here is what I did get done:
I made a couple of bags, a couple of quilts, some baby goods, a couple of baby swaddlers, some pants and 2 dresses.
On the immediate list to happen in the first month of 2014 is the nappy bag, some more pants for bubby, a couple of cot sheets, a quilt and a changing mat. And if I can squeeze it in - a few dresses for her first birthday.
What are your crafty goals for the new year?

Baby Swaddler
It feels so good to be finishing things off. I made this a while ago but only got to sewing in the velcro today.
This pattern was so easy. And a fast sew. Can't wait to snuggle my bubby up in it.
Pattern from here
Fabric is from Heather Ross's Briar Rose collection called Calico in Brown. You can find it here if you're looking.
Next up - the nappy bag. I'm giving myself a week to make it.
Tomorrow I'm heading in for an ultrasound and hoping to find out the sex of the baby. I can't wait.
Have an awesome week,

Slowly
Slowly starting to feel like we are getting organised around here.
I got rid of my car over the weekend and picked up a new (old) one.
It's so cute and I love it. Just needs a bit of mechanical work which it will get this week.
I've got plans this week to make a diaper bag. I've bought 2 patterns but can't quite decide on which one I think would suit me better. Although I have settled on fabric so there's half the battle sorted.
Whatever you are doing - have a fabulous week!

AMH Quickchange trousers
Last weekend I pulled my tracing paper and traced 3 patterns.
Then I pulled out some fabric and started with Anna Maria Horners Quickchange trousers from her Handmade Beginnings book.
Things quickly went sour when I got to the waistband and couldn't, for the life of me, figure out the pattern. Total baby brain, I think.
Fast forward a couple a days - and I found the answer on Flickr.
Noting it here so I don't forget......to insert the elastic, you need to slide it between the layers up through the leg. Of course, so simple!!!
So I finally got them finished this morning.
Can't you just imagine a cute little baby butt in them.
I need to make a boy pair as well - just in case!

Another week
Remember when I made this dress? Well, my girl finally wore it.
It made me so happy! And I'm so glad it still fits - it was a while ago!
We had a good weekend. Quiet - with an engagement party on Saturday for my nephew. So happy for them.
Then Sunday was Fathers Day. So I made my wonderful, perfect hubby some homemade chocolate mousse. It's his favourite besides the orange cake I make.
Unfortunately there's no camping this week. But my littlest started a new job today. Early! I hope she has a really good day. Can't wait to hear all about it this afternoon. So excited for her.
What's new in your world this week?

Fail
I think I spoke too soon about being on the mend - as I ended up in bed the very next day and have been either there or the couch ever since.
Had a better day yesterday so I tried to sew something. Mega fail!
I tried to make a baby swaddler, but I definitely need to unpick it and sew it again. Maybe I should've started with something even smaller.
I'm finally making plans to make a quilt using my Briar Rose bundle. It should be a pretty quick sew.
Need to redo this swaddler first.
Have a Happy Week,

Should I?
So yesterday I finally washed all my fabrics that I've bought to make garments. Now they are all ready to be ironed and cut. And of course I need to select a pattern for each one.
I think to start with though, I want to make the dress version of this with short sleeves. And use this fabric. Kind of unsure. What do you think? Can you see it?

Some goodies
I ordered a couple of patterns in the hopes of actually sewing something.
And a couple of fabrics to make some dresses. Or tops. Just need to work out what to start with - and actually get started.
Going to help a friend make some cushions on Friday. Maybe that might kickstart my productivity. I sure hope so.

Pants for the birthday girl
It's my littlest's birthday on Monday. And apart from the usual birthday list, she requested some mummy made pants - long & short to wear to bed. Who am I to deny her that - even if it was out of my all time favourite fabric that I've been hoarding since I bought it. Saving it for just the right project.
A really long pair.
And some short ones.
Hope she likes them.

The past week...
Has been all about the caravan. Cleaning it. Shopping for things for it. Building things.
My awesome hubby came up with the idea to make a box bed to replace the one in the van - so we could have storage under the bed.
I am very impressed!!
Now if you know me - you know I can't go without a coffee everyday. So I picked up a cheap coffee capsule machine for the van.
And some capsules to test out.
Probably should focus more on the serious stuff - like a mattress and a roadworthy. We've got an adapter coming which means we'll be able to plug the van into the house and see what internal things don't work in it. And we need to replace the broken lights on the outside too. Lots to do. I think today we're relaying carpet, and checking out the annexe.
Until I decide what to sew for the van, this is on my sewing list this week.
I'm going to make the dress version - when my fabric arrives. And a new wallet. Mine is falling apart!
So what are your plans for the new week? Anything fun?
Have a good one,

Quilt top complete
I slowly got there. Finished off the top today.
You can see my little chooky checking it out in the bottom left corner.
So tomorrow - hoping to finish it off and get it in the mail on Tuesday or Wednesday. 2 days behind my schedule isn't too bad.
What have you been up to this weekend?

Slow progress
By lunch time today I had 2 rows finished. But anytime I spent a chunk of time on cutting fabric - I get serious pain in my shoulder. So I took a break over lunch.
But ended up cutting into 2 more rows this afternoon. And of course I had to sew them together too.
So as of this afternoon, I have only finished 4 rows. And have another 5 to go. Aiming for 3 tomorrow. And the final 2 on Friday. Then hoping to baste, quilt & bind over the weekend.
Hope you are having a Happy Wednesday,

Fabric plans
My fabric came yesterday. Hooray!
This is the pile for the baby quilt. Need to get cracking on it today.
I also ordered some fabric for myself - which of course I can't play with until later. But look how pretty they are. And so soft and lovely.
Ok - I've got a date with my iron and a table to clear off ;o)

A little more sleep would be nice
This is how I looked this morning - when my furry alarm clock came and woke me at 4am, 5am, and 6am. Lucky she's cute!!
So this week I am waiting patiently on a fabric order to arrive for a job. A lady wants me to make a quilt for her brother and sister-in-law. Their nursery colours are pink & green. So after changing it around a bit - we've gone with this selection.
I think I should throw some more white in there too.
I can't wait to get started on it - but there seems to be a little holdup. Hope it comes soon!
And I am totally crushing on all the Marcelle Medallion quilts. I've been dreaming of making one.
Pretty gorgeous huh?
Maybe I should get the little things crossed off my list this week. First up, some Storage baskets for my patterns I think. Or a Palo Alto Gadget bag. I've been meaning to make one for so long.
Well - better get moving. School run time!
Have a great week,

Geranium Dress
So it took me a while to get back to my sewing machine. But I did it. For a special little girl whose birthday is coming up in less than a week.
I wanted to make her a pretty little dress and thought straight away of Rae's Geranium Dress.
I used Anna Maria Horners gorgeous Field Study fabric. The outside is Sinister swarm in Flour.
I decided to use snaps for the closure on the back.
I used pretty pearl ones from Snap Source.
And for the lining - Anna Maria Horners Field Study again. This time Sundials in Happy. I think that would be a great print for the front of the dress too. So cute.
I hope she likes it.
What are you creating lately?
