6 months

We survived the first 6 months.
Still not in a routine.
Still have no time for anything. Really - how do people do it?
I barely get dinner on the table and I am done.
So very exhausted. She still feeds every 2 hours - even through the night.
But boy is she worth it. She makes my heart so very happy.
She is an absolute joy.
She got her 2 bottom teeth a month ago. And has been rolling for 2 months. No sitting or crawling yet. Cannot wait for that to start.

I love my sweet girl

My sister said it best....

"you look like you are going to explode" - and well that's exactly how I'm feeling right about now.  34 weeks and 3 days today. Cannot wait for this little girl to arrive.
In the meantime, I've been buying a few more clothes.
Which of course means more washing.

And I finally picked up her first album. This wasn't the one I wanted but it was the only pink one I could get at Spotlight.

We had a scan this week and everything is going well. She weighs about 2.5kg. If that means she's on track to weigh 3.5kg at birth, then I am a happy camper!
If only these last weeks would move a little quicker!

Christmas

This year I made the conscious choice to take it easy. I knew it wasn't going to be easy in this heat so I didn't put alot of pressure on myself.
On Christmas Eve, I prepared everything that I could for the next day. So all I had to do on Christmas was serve it and wash up. Easy Peasy.
I spent most of Christmas Day in the pool. It was so relaxing. Just enjoying our last Christmas as a family of four.
So ready for this bubba to come. 11w and 5 days to go. Although you'd swear I was ready to pop now. I am huge!!
Now that Chrissy is over - I'm going to try and turn my attention to finishing up that nappy bag. And get my oldest girl organised to go back to school.
It's my birthday in a week - so trying to come up with a plan for that, although right now a sleep in and a massage are the only things I want to do.

Have a Happy New Year!

Hospitals, tests and big boys

A little hospital visit. A bit of a scare - but everything is ok at the moment.
Belly getting bigger. I had my Glucose Tolerance Test. Wasn't that fun.
I had to be tested because I have previously had big babies. And I guess because I am alot older this time around. And wider!
It was yuck. The liquid tasted like undiluted cordial. I got it down as fast as I could.
And in good news - my beautiful boy has graduated high school. So proud of him.
He had his formal last night and in his words, he had an awesome time!

Got another busy week ahead - but hoping to fit in a little sewing time.
Have a Happy weekend!

It's a....

Girl!
We are so excited to be having a girl. Already having one of each - I really didn't mind either way. But this whole time I couldn't imagine her being anything other than a sweet little girl - and she is. Well, in reality she'll probably be a sweet BIG girl.
Can't wait to meet her.

Slowly

Slowly starting to feel like we are getting organised around here.
I got rid of my car over the weekend and picked up a new (old) one.
It's so cute and I love it. Just needs a bit of mechanical work which it will get this week.

I've got plans this week to make a diaper bag. I've bought 2 patterns but can't quite decide on which one I think would suit me better. Although I have settled on fabric so there's half the battle sorted.

Whatever you are doing - have a fabulous week!

Another week

Remember when I made this dress? Well, my girl finally wore it.
It made me so happy! And I'm so glad it still fits - it was a while ago!

We had a good weekend. Quiet - with an engagement party on Saturday for my nephew. So happy for them.

Then Sunday was Fathers Day. So I made my wonderful, perfect hubby some homemade chocolate mousse. It's his favourite besides the orange cake I make.
Unfortunately there's no camping this week. But my littlest started a new job today. Early! I hope she has a really good day. Can't wait to hear all about it this afternoon. So excited for her.

What's new in your world this week?

Full

The past 2 weeks have been busy doing this and that.
Trying to keep warm as it's been really cold
Breaking out the juicer and finally using it - a favourite being celery & apple.
Buying patterns. I just love Lizzy House.
Celebrating birthdays of my two favourite people in the world.
Getting the caravan registered and ready for holidays - although just not yet.
Working out in the wet & cold.
A trip to the movies. (Loved it!)
Got a week left of holidays before it's back to school for the kids.
Hoping to get back to some sewing next week.

What have you been up to lately?

A bit random really

So, this week has been all about the caravan. All the boring stuff.
My hubby darling replaced all the lights and the external power outlet.
I put in a new extinguisher.
We put the bed in, and some new carpet. And had to order a custom mattress for it. It's a little firm - but I suppose we'll get used to it. The bed is begging for a scrappy quilt. Just not sure what I want to make yet.
We also got a gas safety certificate - so we're a little closer to getting the van on the road. Yay.

A new menu for the week. The snapper & asparagus salad was delicious!!
Chicken Tandoori wraps are an excellent choice for tonight as I can quickly throw them together before I go to work.
And my fabric arrived today. Hoping to get 2 dresses out of it. Or maybe a dress and a top.

Still nothing happening here sewing wise. But going to try and make my wallet tomorrow. Maybe that will help get me back at the sewing machine a little more regularly.

Have a great weekend.

The past week...

Has been all about the caravan. Cleaning it. Shopping for things for it. Building things.
My awesome hubby came up with the idea to make a box bed to replace the one in the van - so we could have storage under the bed.
I am very impressed!!

Now if you know me - you know I can't go without a coffee everyday. So I picked up a cheap coffee capsule machine for the van.
And some capsules to test out.
Probably should focus more on the serious stuff - like a mattress and a roadworthy. We've got an adapter coming which means we'll be able to plug the van into the house and see what internal things don't work in it. And we need to replace the broken lights on the outside too. Lots to do. I think today we're relaying carpet, and checking out the annexe.

Until I decide what to sew for the van, this is on my sewing list this week.
I'm going to make the dress version - when my fabric arrives. And a new wallet. Mine is falling apart!

So what are your plans for the new week? Anything fun?
Have a good one,

This week

This week started off with an early birthday present. Her birthday isn't for a few weeks but I just couldn't help myself. She loves it!
And a little present for myself - another Bill book to add to my collection. He is probably my favourite celeb chef. I love his recipes.
Yesterday started off raining and continued into the night.
I was very happy to finish work and get home into my warm and dry bed.
Today, a delivery of some yummy fabrics. Wishing I'd ordered more of the Tsuru navy print. Would've made a pretty dress.

I've got a roast in the oven and thinking of cutting out a shirt. It's a great start to the weekend.
Have a good one, whatever you may be doing,

Food Connect box 2

I picked up my beloved boxes today. In the vege box this week, I got some sugarloaf cabbage, butternut pumpkin, lebanese cucumbers, zucchinis, mushrooms, potato, shallots, broccoli, tomatoes, radishes, lettuce mix and kale.
And in the fruit box, some bananas, red & green apples, kiwifruit, mandarines, oranges, pears and a custard fruit. Not quite sure what to do with a custard fruit. I've never tried one. Any ideas??
And my extras - eggs, a pane loaf (I could eat this bread every day of my life),  1kg of tomatoes and some beetroot.

So here is the menu I have worked out for this week based on what was in my boxes.
Beetroot & Fetta Bruschetta again this week as it was such a delicious hit with the family last week. Any fruits or veges left over will be going into the juicer for breakfast or lunch. Yum. Can't wait until it arrives.

What's on the menu at your house?

Mothers Day 2013

Yesterday I was woken by the smiling faces of my family, along with cuddles and pressies.
And my hubby cooked me some breakfast and then my daughter washed dishes.

Then we headed off to lunch with my mum. She made a delicious roast. It was so good. And my only job for the day was to bring dessert. So on Saturday I made a chocolate mousse cake to take.
It was the perfect ending to the meal.
And I did a little shopping for myself. I ordered a juicer.
 And some pretty nail polishes.

I'm hoping they'll get here this week.

Tomorrow is Food Connect Box delivery day - so I'll be back with a new menu for the week.
See you then,

Kel xxx
