I woke up this morning and knew I had to get to my sewing table and put my foot down.
I cut out my pattern and went to work.
It didn't take long. But then I found out I didn't get the right bias binding - and I didn't have enough fabric left to make my own. So I ran down to Spotlight to see what I could find. I ended up going with a navy.
I made 3 mistakes. I didn't finish the edges - so I tried to zig zag them after and I cut a hole in the back of my top. Eeeek!!!
And I had to unpick the hem and re sew it.
And I didn't try it on for size - at all. I was just trying to get it done. So it's a bit off in the chest and armpit area.
I'd probably wear it under a cardigan anyway so that's ok.
But what do I do about the hole in the back????
That'll teach me for leaving it all till the end of the week.
If you want to make one for yourself - you can find the free download here.
Ok. Now onto the skirt.

ReplyDeleteSounds like my sewing escapades a little bit. Yours turned out great! Once I sewed a little outfit for my daughter when she was a baby, I was so excited to show my mom...and my mom said "Do you see something wrong with it?"...I couldn't figure it out. I had used the material upside down! LOL
ReplyDeleteOh Crystal, too funny - I cut pants upside down the other day. (I just made that the inside of the pants ;o)
Deletecute top; i think you are brave to sew clothes...i only make quilts because all of my sewing can be in a straight line!
